It surprises me that it is only 60,000! I guess this will increase when the UK tour starts and the TOM nostalgia fans realise how good the newer music is and rush to buy FOTM! :hehe:

Actully, it could be less then 60 000. scorcher is probably just making up lies as the album is not listed for silver status yet...

!!!! There's no need to be so rude!

I'm more than happy to take scorcher's word for it personally...

Yeh, your right, i apologize for telling it that way,to you scorcher  it was stupid. Anyway, i fallow the charts from all over the world all the time and FOTM isent listed on any sites. So if scorcher' dosent have any insider iformation that hasent been announces yet. I think he is wrong when just saying it is silver without mention anything more.
I would be supriced if it actully gets it.

Scorcher posted this information because she wanted to give the forum a heads up on great news... :notworthy:

I guess it can take a while for the formality cogs to turn and for the information to be posted on the various websites.

tryffel, we'd all like to see the band succeed, that's why we're here, and time will show whether FOTM has made silver or not in the UK. You certainly have shown that you know a lot about chart placements and that you follow this closely, so I understand your point of view for sure.

I don't think anyone questions your right to disagree, it's just that you accused someone of making up lies, and that's unnecessary. Ask for proof, say you don't believe it, fine, but saying someone is a liar is an insult and there is no need for it here among friends ok?

Hi Catherine!
Thanks for the link to the a-ha discography!
Now this is really strange: the label number is: 987469-9. This matches the version released in Thailand. And the back of the booklet says Manufactured and made in Thailand. So my CD is from Thailand? How strange it was at the local FYE , not marked import in the regular CD bin. :hmm:
Of course I'm glad I saw it there as I had no idea it existed before then. How did that CD get here?
I do not understand why a-ha have not made arrangements to have their albums released here. It's a missed opportunity.
Very good news that FOTM was certified silver in the UK!! Only 40,000 more copies needed to reach gold staus! With 10 UK concerts lined up, is it possible the album could get enough of a boost to reach gold status?
Wouldnt it be great if FOTM could reach 500,000 copies sold worldwide? I hope it does!

Yes, your right about that and it wasent my intention to sound like that. i should used another way of telling it. Afyer reading it afterwards i see how bad it sounded like. Anyway, i have said iam sorry for that.

In the charts. FOTM is up a bit again at place 95 in Germany. in Switzerland, it has re enter the album chart again and this time, at place 71, its 25 weak in the top 100. I think it would easily gone gold there with a concert and some aparences last year to promote it more but its still one of their most sucessfull albums they have realesed there.

FOTM did'nt fall off the chart but moved up to # 95!! With a-ha doing 16 concerts there this year it should get a good boost again! Time for another single!
Thats great it moved up again in Switzerland!
As a-ha do concerts in various countries no doubt it will keep giving FOTM continued boosts - it could reach 500,000! It has done better then Analogue by now.

It will never reach Gold in the UK. As for the world wide numbers, we cant be sure on that eather as labels often just guessing the numbers. It has outsold Analogue with a quite large margin, with 200 000 compared to only 20 000 in Germany for example and all the other countries to. Norway is the only country where Analogue did better. What i find really anoying is that if Warner havant realesed The singles collection in 2004. They could have a golden possibility to have a big seller greatest hits album this in the UK this year. The timing would be perfect and mayby they do that anyway but it will not be the same

Congratulations a-ha! now FOTM is silver in UK, Platinum in Norway, Russia, and Germany! With all of the upcoming tours and new editions of HHAL and SD there should be further boosts for the sales of FOTM!

great news. selling 60000 these days is something they can be really proud of...
Well done.
I was thinking that if they had repeated the signing session after London in 2-3 more big cities this could have gone even further.
On the other hand, if someone said that a-hawould be number 5 in the uk in 2009, I would not have believed that.
Proud to be an a-ha fan:)
