[Concert] Oct 31, 09 - Frankfurt, Germany - Festhalle

Postby Catherine » Fri May 01, 2009 7:47 pm

Well I have always wanted to go to Frankfurt - I have some good friends living there - but I also love Halloween  So I gotta know, who are the lucky ones who will see a-ha at Festhalle?? :elk:

Tickets go on presale on May 4 on a-ha.com. I think I heard that Festhalle is usually a standing venue but that this time it's seated? Anyone know for sure?

ähhh. a-ha.com are only selling seating tickets, so it should that way. it confues me now that YOU ask this???

Most of the concerts I attend had the standing thing (besides above, where it has seating), but it could be seating everywhere:

As a-ha.com has these B D N and O tickets, it have to be like this plan.

Don't be confused, that's me confused obviously! I hadn't seen the floor chart or the ticket presale page so I didn't realize that there were specific rows listed....my mistake!

So the whole venue is seated, it isn't then standing and seated like in Oslo? That's how it appears from the floor plan so I guess all the tickets are numbered :great:

I guess so.

No room in my eyes for standing.
Even more, if it would that otherwise means a-ha.com wouldn´t sell the best tickets so far. And I hope that is not the case. :^^:

Back from this concert - and it was absolutely great.
I think it even was a bit better than the one in Cologne last Tuesday.
Actually, as a general impression since seeing two shows so far: I really think this is the best a-ha we've seen since a very long time. The sound and the visual effects are just brilliant, the songs chosen fit perfectly together and into the more electronic arrangement.
With Morten having much more to do on stage now (drums, megaphone, guitar :hehe:) it all seems working well together and as if there had been put a few more thoughts into this show concept as on some other tours. Today it all seemed even more relaxed and the guys obviously got some "routine" with the show by now.

Morten is much moving across the stage and it doesn't look too frantic as is sometimes does. He's more smiling and interacting with the audience now AND most importantly I think he's much better into the songs now. Two thirds of the concert I have been standing pretty close to one of the main speaker (rest of it in front of Magne and Morten ) . So I definitely heard his voice very well. And to me almost everything sounded great. Even TOM at the was way better than in Cologne where he barely hit any of the high notes of the chorus...
Not today, he was struggling a bit on this but got through it pretty well (that's simply is the one song where you def can notice some weakness of his nowadays singing capabilities). SMO was sung perfectly as usual. :^^: And I don't know why, but today "HHAL" really gave me goosebumps all over the body. I thought Morten sung it so beautiful today and of course it is just a wonderful song in general, so maybe that's why... :^^:

Still my favorites of the show remain "Sunny mystery", "Foot of the mountain", "Dream myself alive" and "Scoundrel days". Actually, I do like all the songs they're playing. Even "Cry wolf" which never had been a favorite track for me, sounds great during the show. It just fits into it right now.
However, I would have liked to see them changing 2-3 songs per show as I also think that they would enjoy it a bit more than just playing the same set list night by night.
I would love to hear songs like "Out of blue comes green", "Here I stand and face the rain", "Cannot hide", "This alone is love" or "Living a boys adventure tale" live one day (and there ain't that many chances left, as we all know... :arf:).

As for photos: Mine usually don't come out any close to good. I'm probably the worst photographer in the world, honestly (or maybe it's also because I don't really have a very good camera )... However, I did give it another try today and here are some of the better ones:

I also made some small clips during the show, but don't get too excited yet...
The quality isn't too great on them either and it even lost more of the original quality with the Youtube upload... :arf: But I guess it's good enough to at least get some tiny expressions from the show (and for sure there will be much more better ones showing up very soon). :^^:

Thank you so much for all of this, Sandra!

Even though this entire tour is going under the "Ending On A High Note" banner, I'm still thinking of the 2009 dates as the FOTM tour. I'm hoping next year they start REALLY mixing it up. Keeping my fingers crossed the setlist changes in Oslo, since I'm seeing them 2 nights in a row!
